ARES/RACES REQUIREMENTS

Beginning January 1, 2007 in order to be an ARES/RACES member you must take the following courses and receive completion certificates for them:


IS-700(NIMS) - A FEMA Course
and
ICS-100 - A FEMA Course or EC-001 - An ARRL Course

FEMA courses are free. Study outlines can be downloaded as well as the final exam questions. You then enter answers to the 25 exam questions online. If you pass, a certificate of completion is emailed to you. ARRL courses cost $45 and require much more study time. They involve a mentor who is assigned to you. You must email answers to questions to the mentor for each chapter of the manual. You also must take an online final exam to receive a completion certificate.
